Kruger Park
Day excursions to the famous Kruger Park, home to the Big 5, or alternatively organized day or night safaris are a MUST during your stay. The Phabeni Gate, one of the most convenient access points to the Kruger National Park, is situated app. 10 km from the Lodge. Other gates such as the Paul Kruger and Numbi Gates are within comfortable driving distance.

Panorama Route
Just next to the Highlands Meander is The Panorama, which abounds with breathtaking views from natural wonders along the eastern slopes of the escarpment. There’s God’s Window and the world’s third largest canyon and biggest green canyon, the Blyde River Canyon. There are also the astonishing Bourke’s Luck Potholes and three rondawels. The towns of Lydenberg and White River are gateways to the route, which take visitors through the quaint towns of Pilgrim’s Rest, a living museum dating back to the days of the gold rush, as well as Sabie, Graskop, Ohrigstad and Hazyview.

A variety of local activities, such as hot air ballooning, river rafting, horse riding, fishing, quad biking, etc., are available. There are also renowned Golf courses, like Sabie River Sun, Kruger Park Lodge and Skukuza in the proximity of the Lodge.

Skyway Trails – “Experience the thrill of Africa’s longest aerial cable trail”
Experience the freedom of gliding over one of the last remaining natural forested valleys along the Sabie River. The aerial cable trail takes you down into the valley basin, stopping along the way on a number of elevated platforms to admire the natural vegetation, birdlife and the views of the forest floor below.
White water rafting – Sabie River
The Sabie River provides 20 rapids (grade 2–3) with areas of scenic vegetation and outstanding birdlife viewing. This 8 km route is yielding to the novice, yet accommodating to the thrill seeker within all of us. Swimming, bum sliding at “Lion’s Rock”.
Hot Air Balloon Flights
Balloon flights take place in the very early morning before the earth heats up. The launch site is in the beautiful Sabie River Valley.Depending on the wind direction, the balloon may float over fruit orchards and bush, or forests and hills, some flights end in the next valley or the one beyond that.
Shangana Cultural Village
Midway between the Blyde River Canyon and the Kruger National Park, the residents of the traditional villages of Shangana invite guests to share in the way of life of the Shangaan people. The picturesque villages are set in the shade of ancient trees in a reserve of forest and grassland.
Quad Biking
Experience the excitement of quad bike trails in the scenic riverine area in and around the Sabie River Valley and the bushveld surrounding the Kruger National Park.
